Ingredients
Macadamia Seared Tuna with Seaweed Salad
5oz. #1 grade Tuna
2/3 cup soy sauce
½ cup chopped macadamia nuts
1-tablespoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons peanut oil
6 - 2 inch wontons
Seaweed Salad
1/2 cup prepared seaweed salad ( Found At any Asian market)
½ cucumber (peeled and seeded & julienne)
1 small carrot julienne
1 tablespoon pickled ginger
1 tablespoon julienne radish
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar
1/2-teaspoon sesame oil
Preparation
For Tuna
Marinate Tuna in soy sauce for 20 minutes then remove from marinade and towel dry. Combine macadamia and sesame seeds and roll tuna in mixture. Pan sear tuna 1 minute on each side. Serve medium rare. Slice ¼ inch thick.
For Seaweed Salad
Toss prepared seaweed salad with all ingredients and set aside.
Assemble
Fry wontons until golden brown, top with a tablespoon of seaweed salad and then with sliced tuna. Serve with baby lettuce and wasabi mustard and soy sauce. Serves 2
