Ingredients
1 Pound Gemelli or other short, tubular pasta
4 Tsp. olive oil
1 1/2cups chopped onion
2 TBL. minced garlic, bottled
1/4 cup red wine
2 cans (14.5 ounces) Italian-style diced tomatoes
2 small cans (8 ounces) tomato sauce
2 Tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1 Tsp. crushed, hot red pepper, or to taste
1 Pound already-peeled, medium-sized raw shrimp
Preparation
Saute onions in oil first, then add rest of ingredients (without shrimp) and let simmer for a couple of hours. Cook pasta and when almost done (about 3 minutes left) add shirmp to heated sauce and cook till shrimp turn pink and begin to curl. Serve at once.
