Ingredients

14 oz can plum tomatoes, pureed

3 cloves garlic, peeled and pureed

Pinch of red pepper flakes

16 fresh basil leaves. chopped or 1 Tbs dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan, place the pureed tomatoes, garlic, red pepper flakes and the chopped basil (or dried basil if fresh is unavailable.) Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.

  2. Season the tomato sauce with salt and pepper. Continue simmering for another 5 minutes.
