Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
4 eggs
1-1/2 cups plain bread crumbs
3/4 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese
2 garlic cloves
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ cups BBQ Sauce
1 tablespoon Rub
3 tablespoons liquid smoke
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well. Form 4 half-pound patties and place on a platter. Bring smoker/grill temperature to 275° and place burgers on smoker until internal temperature of 140°. Pull burgers from smoker and let rest while you turn up smoker/grill to 450°. Sear burgers for 90 seconds on each side.
