Ingredients

1/2 cup soft butter or margarine

3/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

1/4 tsp. salt

2 Tbsp. sugar

1 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat until fluffy.
  2. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture to make a stiff cookie dough.
  3. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Mix the 2 Tbsp. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon in small bowl. Roll cookie balls in the cinnamon sugar. Place on greased baking sheets. Flatten with fork.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until very lightly browned. yield: 30 cookies.
