Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

2 3/4 cups sifted white flour (don’t use self-rising flour)

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1 teaspoon soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Preparation

Mix thoroughly butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until fluffy. Then mix in eggs until mixed well. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon in a small bowl.

Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Roll balls in sugar cinnamon mixture. Place dough 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
