Ingredients
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter flavored shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preparation
1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2.Mix sugar and shortening until smooth and fluffy. Beat eggs and add vanilla and baking soda which has been dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water. 3.Sift flour and salt together and add to the creamed mixture. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips. 4.Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes.
