Ingredients

3/4 cup corn meal

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 tablespoons sugar

1 egg, well beaten

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 cup sour cream, thick

4 tablespoons milk

Preparation

  1. Sift flour and corn mean. Add soda, cream of tartar, salt and sugar. Re-sift all together.

  2. Add beaten egg, cream, milk and melted butter.

  3. Beat thoroughly and pour into a greased 9 inch square pan.

  4. Bake at 425F for 20 minutes until well set.
