Ingredients
2 cups potato water (what’s left over from boiling potatoes)
3 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 3/4 cup unsifted flour
Preparation
Put ingredients in glass crock jar or large bowl. Never metal
Mix well. Set crock in warm draft free place.
Dough has mild sour taste at 12 hours or stronger taste at 36 hours.
Sandra always kept her starter in her refrigerator and added to it after taking some out.
How to feed sourdough starter (add to remaining starter in crock): 3/4 cup warm water 1 1/2 Tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt 7/8 cup flour Let sit in a warm place 3-4 hours. Store in refrigerator if not used by next day.
