Ingredients
4 C fresh or frozen Black-eyed peas
4-5 slices of bacon
1 onion chopped
1 stalk celery diced
4 cloves garlic minced
6 C chicken broth
1/2 t salt
Preparation
In 5 quart pot cook bacon. Remove and add onion, celery & garlic. Cook until tender. Add broth, peas, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil. Lower heat to simmer and add bacon. Cook at least an hour.
