Ingredients
3 eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
dash salt
3/4 cup melted unsalted butter cooled
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
8 whole pecans
unbaked 9-inch pie shell made from your favorite recipe
Preparation
Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Beats eggs thoroughly; add sugar mixture and syrup and mix well. Add butter and vanilla. Put pecans in bottom of pie shell. Pour mixture over nuts. Arrange whole pecans in a circle in the center of the pie. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes; lowever temperature to 300 degrees and bake 35 minutes longer.
